We all know that travelling can change you as a person and that it can change your whole perspective on life as well. However, experiencing a different culture very frequently comes with allowing yourself to indulge in one too many delicious treats from that country – and that can have a terrible effect on your waistline.
Fortunately, there are things you can do to stay slim while traveling – and they don’t have to be very difficult to follow. If you are curious to learn more about the best on-the-road slim tips, read on and find out more.
Work out
Yes, visiting that awesome museum or that amazing natural reservation may seem to be a lot more entertaining than actually working out. But the truth is that you do need to spend at least 30 minutes every day with your body, sweating it out. You don’t necessarily have to buy gym membership though – you can work out in many other ways. Jogging around your home or hotel, lifting some heavy weights (made from plastic bottles filled with water, for example) or dancing can be just as effective as going to the gym – so save some time and make sure you stick to your plan.
Balance your eating
It wouldn’t be very fun to visit a foreign country and not allow yourself to indulge in the amazing local cuisine. In fact, you would most likely miss out on one of the most amazing parts of travelling – and that would be a real pity.
If you feel that you have had a bit too much pasta in Italy or that you indulged in a bit too much curry in India, make sure you compensate your “bad eating” with “better eating”. For example, there are a lot of meal replacement shakes or Pu-erh Tea that you can use as meal replacements to balance out your “indulgence” and they will be very easy to pack away with you, so that you can take them wherever you choose to go next.
Walk or ride a bike
Paying for taxis and renting cars can be quite expensive and not everyone will be able to afford it – not even in a foreign country where everything is much less expensive than back home. Even more, going via public transportation can be annoying and time consuming (and it may not be very safe either, especially at night).
At the same time though, walking around the cities and renting bikes will save you a lot of money and it will help you stay in shape as well – not to mention the fact that it will be the most eco-friendly option you have at hand.
Of course, these are just some of the ways in which you can stay slim when traveling, but there are many other ways too. The key is not shifting too much from your regular work out and diets, so that you don’t put on extra pounds. Have a healthy approach to food and to exercising and you will stay slim and fit wherever in the world you are!
