If you’re due to take a romantic break, you may be interested in a new survey by Blue Chip Holidays. The survey asked more than 1000 British adults what the must-have item would be if they were to spend some time in a luxurious holiday home.
A huge 34% of respondents said that for them, a private pool or hot tub was the most important item when it came to luxury.
In fact, for those who are focusing on romance, the best location is a secluded holiday cottage with a hot tub, great view, log burning fire, four poster bed, and of course ideal stargazing conditions. Many people also thought it was important for the cottage to be dog-friendly, as more and more people like to bring their pets with them on holiday.
When the results of the survey were broken down further, it was apparent that what people want on their holidays varies greatly depending on where they’re from and how old they are.
For those who were within Britain, a private hot tub or pool was the number one amenity, while for those in Northern Ireland and aged over 65, it was actually an open fire or log burner that was preferred. However, those aged between 25 and 35 had a three-way tie, between a private pool or hot tub, a private garden and a private chef.
Those who lived in Scotland also had different ideas about the amenities that were the most important to them. This was another case of a three-way tie, as those who were over 65 and called Scotland home felt that dog-friendliness, a private chef and a log burner were all equally important. Those who were aged a little younger (between 54 and 64) felt that a private chef and dog-friendliness were both the more important factors.
Brand and Communications manager of Blue Chip Holidays, Tori Kirwan-Taylor gave us some insight into the survey and their findings.
“We were interested to see how the must have item was dependent on the location and age of the holiday maker”, she said. “We all have different ideas about what we would like to see and how we want to be treated when it comes to luxury. That’s why we ensure our holiday cottages offer something for everyone”.
Tori went on to say that Blue Chip was pleased to see that many of the people who took the poll considered a private chef to be a nice addition, since this is something that can be offered to guests as part of the holiday planning service for the Blue Chip Experience. Blue Chip pride themselves on going the extra mile for their guests and they provide the extra touches make luxurious holidays really special.
